I am installing Enterprise SQL Server 2005 client tools (only) on a 64 bit
BizTalk server. Are the client tools found on the Enterprise SQL Server DVD
32 or 64 bit? I assumed 64 bit. When I downloaded and attempted to install
the 64 BIT SQL Server 2005 SP1, it said "Setup cannot update x86 products on
this computer".
Two questions:
1. Did I just incorrectly install the 32 bit SQL Server client on my 64 bit
server?
2. Do I need to download and install the 32 bit SQL Server 2005 SP1 because
the client tools are 32 bit whether I like it or not?
Thanks in advance.
MarkAll client tools are 32-bit. There is no 64-bit Visual Studio framework so
there are no SQL 64-bit tools.

server AND client tools, that you'd have to install both the 32 bit AND 64
SP1? The 32 bit SP1 would cover the client tools and the 64 bit would cover
the server tools ... that sounds funny.
Thanks again.
