A couple of easy questions

Hi everyone,

Running Windows 2003 x64 and Sql25k 64-bit edition

We just have a couple of questions related with our system:

-What is Sql Server VSS Writer service for?

-What sort of implications must we assume when Integration Services service is running as NT AUTHORITY\NetworkService

For SSIS the implications are much the same as any service, just bear in mind what the SSIS service does, not a lot really.

3rd Party Source Control that leverages VSS

I noticed from this link:

There are four well known products that are used by medium to large size shops to help aid in change management of SQL Environments.

- AbaPerls
- DBGhost
- MSSqlExpress
- SQL Source Control

Does anyone currently use any of the above? Could you briefly explain your likes an dislikes and if you have reviewed any of the other options above when you had to make a decision as to which product to use?I guess no one uses 3rd party tools to complement Visual Source Safe??|||I did not know anything complemented VSS. We certainly don't ;-).
