5041. MODIFY FILE failed. File '%.*ls' does not exist.

I am trying to change the file growth of a database file by 10% and I get an error message.
Microsoft SQL-DMO (ODBC SQL-STATE 42000)
Error 5041 MODIFY FILE failed. File '%.*ls' does not exist.
All I know is that it is an error of severity 16.
Can you post the SQL command you executed?
