A connection could not be made to the report server

installed MS SQL 2005 Express Advanced (with Reporting services). I built a
sample report using the wizard. When i click on 'deploy' i get the error as
below. There is an application with virtual name as 'ReportServer' in the
IIS 5.1 . What could be the possible reasons for this error ?

--I re-installed the Reporting server after checking the 'Apply default
settings' check box. Now the report seems to be deployable.
